For readers who seek out plastic surgery, is there any advice that you would give a first time plastic
surgery seeker?

It is very difficult to do research these days. Many surgeons fake their reviews. I have heard some
pay Yelp thousands a month to help with this. So reviews are unfortunately not very helpful. A
surgeon should be around for about 5 or more years after residency. They should have a large body
of HONEST depictions of their work in a before after gallery (pictures or videos) and be personable.
At bare minimum they should be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. That
can all be looked up. The board has a website and directory. On top of that, very few are selected
and invited on a continual basis to teach their work. You will know who these are because most will
post their lecture invites on social media and you can always ask for a resume although most don’t.
In addition if you know of a few people who have had work done by someone with the procedure
you want, pay that surgeon a visit. See about 3 surgeons and go with your gut instinct on who is
in it for the art and, for your interest, will be there for you if something unexpected occurs and who
is really in it just for the money. You will quickly see the difference between those who are truly
dedicated to this craft and love what they do compared to those who are just in it for the money and
are more surface level,“appearing” like they are good but not really demonstrating it in their actions.
I really love social media because I can illustrate my work via video which can’t be tampered with and
photoshopped and can show numerous new patients per week with phenomenal results. That is real li
and real results.
