“ By My Side ” is a special tune and my latest single just released . It was partially written at a soundcheck rehearsal . When I was about to complete it , my wife was going through a tough time health wise ; So , when I put the sax melody on it , I knew that I needed to use my tenor saxophone which has a big , bold sound . The seriousness of the melody , which has some Gospel undertones , really tells the story of my emotions at that time . When the tune was completed , I played it for her and asked her what she felt while listening to it because the tune needed a name . She said , “ I feel all the emotions that I went through while going through those brutal therapies and tests for almost a year . You sound like you are praying through your horn . Through it all you were right “ by my side ” when I needed you most .” So …. I named the tune “ By My Side ”.
