he Sen Wellness Sanctuary is a design
esthetic sight to behold, from its locale
at the mangrove forest inserted between
a lagoon and a glorious stretch of pristine
golden palm-fronted beach, to the nestled in,
beautiful cabana sleeping accommodations
quietly tucked away in the Rekawa Reserve’s
expansive lagoon to the holistic treatment
session areas. It is all very visually harmonious;
it can only inevitably be an extraordinary
experience in person. Was there a philosophy
behind the overall design of the sanctuary?

T
he buildings were inspired by the sacred
geometry of a seashell form. The
structures and décor are harmonious and the
energy flows feeling through and around the
building drawing in from its lush surroundings
and amplifying the healing potential of the
space. The connection with nature is framed
through the open sided buildings where
branches and palms are almost leaning in to
the spaces and where the local wildlife can
be observed from many peaceful corners to
read and relax in.
The airy spaces have a minimal pared back
feel to emphasis the luxury of quiet and natural
living. The barefoot philosophy grounds you
to the earth but also makes you feel instantly
at home as you travel through the cool stone,
wooden and natural floorings to your Cabana
set back amongst trees.

here are four Sen Wellness Signature
Retreats, which take place a designated
times throughout the year: Spring Awakening,
Golden Summer Retreat, Season Opening
Retreat, Festive Retreat. Is there a specific
Signature Retreat that you recommend for a
first time visitor to the Sanctuary?
take pleasure in hosting all of our Signature
Retreats, however if I had to choose a
personal favourite, it would be the Festive
Retreat held at the end of December.
We offer special ceremonies, activities and
celebrations for the New Year. During this
time the climate is at its best, and the retreat
is a magical way to end a year and mark the
beginning of the next.

Sen
Wellness Sanctuary is your vision that
has come to life. What are you most
proud of about what the Sanctuary offers, and
what do you hope visitors take away after their
retreat experience?
SWS
My
vision was always for The Sanctuary
to be a place that brings people
together to connect from all over the world
and support their health and wellbeing.
I want to offer our guests a place to discover
themselves in a more whole way, to connect
with themselves and exchange, share and
support each other. I am very humbled by
the extent that this has been realised at the
Sanctuary and by the guests who come and
share their retreat with us.
I am also extremely interested in making
local connection within the community and
positively contributing to the infrastructure of
the area. We are able to provide opportunities
for growth and progression to local young
people and importantly, employment and
opportunities for local woman. Half of our
staff team are female and we advocate
equal opportunities and value women in
the work place.
