If I were to host an extravagant affair , on a cool summer evening , with 100 or so V . I . P . guests , which whiskey or malt would you recommend ?
Glenfiddich
A perfect drink for this situation would be a Glenfiddich 12 year old Highball . Simply take a tall glass , fill it up with ice , add 2 parts Glenfiddich 12 year old then top up with a good quality soda water then finish it off with a slice of fresh lemon . The characteristics of the 12 year are amplified and heightened by the soda thus giving you a very fresh and delicious drink , perfect for a sundowner for a summers evening .

Let ’ s take a glimpse into the future . 200 years have passed . What is one element about the Glenfiddich distilling process that has not changed ? The previously mentioned scenario applies , what do you see Glenfiddich evolving into in 200 years ?
Glenfiddich
In 200 years ’ time I would say predict that the Grant family would still own and run the distillery , currently 6th generation so in 2218 I would think this would be around 13th generation . I would imagine that the traditions of how Glenfiddich is made would still be adhered to but the boundaries would have been pushed by the brand even further than how it is being done today . Maybe we would have a Mars matured Glenfiddich , however the laws on Scotch Whisky would have to change as currently Scotch Whisky can only be matured in Scotland .

What can someone expect when enjoying Glenfiddich for the first time ?
Glenfiddich
Being the US Glenfiddich Ambassador I have had the pleasure of introducing Glenfiddich to a lot of people . The usual reaction I get is that of surprise . This is mostly from people who think that they do not or will never enjoy Scotch Whisky . Most of the time this is due to a misconception that all Scotch is smoky . Glenfiddich does not use any peat in the drying of its barley therefore this smoky aspect is not present and the characteristics of fruits especially pear , citrus and vanilla are something that tends to be the dominant characters people will find on their first experience .
I would hope that the way of drinking Glenfiddich would still be savored in great company .
