The Fantastical Gift Holiday Collection 2025 Edition 2 | Page 160
Luxury Motorcars
Everything has a story— and few are as cinematic as this one.
This exquisite 1949 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500SS Cabriolet, one of only sixty-three ever built by Carrozzeria Pininfarina, captures the glamour of an era when automobiles were hand-sculpted objets d’ art. Once the darling of Europe’ s glittering elite— the Aga Khan famously owned two, gifting one to Rita Hayworth— this rare Alfa remains a triumph of Italian craftsmanship and sensual design.
Originally finished in Alfa Blue with a red leather interior, its dashboard glows with Coral Bakelite knobs, a detail so decadent it feels closer to jewellery than machinery. Beneath its sculptural curves lies the last of the truly coach-built Alfas— powerful yet poetic, capable of cruising modern roads with grace born from another time.
Rumoured to have been owned by Florette Lartigue, muse and wife of French photographer Jacques-Henri Lartigue, it later passed through the hands of noted collectors and even featured within Jaguar’ s Heritage Collection before being lovingly recommissioned for the Mille Miglia Warm-Up, where it won third prize on debut.
