A prolific and internationally award-winning filmmaker, Hong Sangsoo is so familiar with the Cannes Film Festival that he made it the setting for his film Claire’ s Camera( Special Screenings, 2017). With four films in Competition( Woman is the Future of Man in 2004, A Tale of Cinema in 2005, In Another Country in 2012, The Day After Tomorrow in 2017) and four films in Un Certain Regard( The Power of Kangwon Province in 1998, The Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Suitors in 2000, Hahaha in 2010, which earned him the Un Certain Regard Prize, and Quiet Mornings in Seoul in 2011), Hong Sangsoo continues to evolve while remaining faithful to his cinema, refined and intimate. Since the presentation of Juste sous vos yeux( Cannes Première, 2021), he has shot seven films and is currently working on his next film entitled At the middle of life.
