Best Director Award at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, he confirmed his mastery of his art. In 2018, he directed Nuestro tiempo. He is also a co-producer, notably of certain films by Amat Escalante, Dea Kulumbegashvili, Christine Haroutounian, and Hilal Baydarov. In 2023, he published Presencia, a book on cinema and the source of creation. Carlos Reygadas is currently working on his next film, Sillage d’ ombre.
